You Cant Handle The Truth!

So maybe by now you realize what a courupt world we live in, whether you like it or not, people are gonna be invading your pricay. The government can try to stop a little bit of it, but it reality hackers know just as much as they do and will exploit it, there are cases every single day of people getting their credit cards nunbers stollen and lifes ruiend. Your hisotry is never safe, adverstiment companies all over the web are stealing your cookies and history all the time, what you type into a computer, iphone, anything that has an active connection to the internet can be brought back up whether you want to accept it or not. statisticly in the last 10 years we have had more cases of identify theft and electronic crime than ever before. There are secuirety camera's at every resturant, bank, school or any other public place for that matter. Your cell phone is a personal tracking device, whether you realize it or not, the police can track your cell phone like a tracking device and every single phone call, text message, picture message and voice mail you recivce and send out is recorderd and can be brought back up by your phone company. There is no way of telling if your house phone is tapped and people are listing into your conversations and there is also no way to tell if your coomputer has a keylogger installed. Parents, teachers or the government can be tracking every single keystroke you type in on a keyboard and you would never even think twice.

Dont Take My Word For It...

Since privacy is such a popular topic in today's society people everywhere are taking Interest in it. Like the recent deal of Google trying to buy out an advertisement company called "double click" who tracks the cookies on your computer and stores them in their database people are outraged. "we think its very important that the F.T.C is taking a look at the Google-double click deal" said Marc Rotenberg, executive director of the electronic privacy information center, a privacy group. Wire tapping is another huge issue, its been around since the dawn of security and who has the right to keep that information is even bigger a problem "Congress, in fact, must have assumed that "electronic communications" include stored information, because such information "cannot successfully be completed without being stored". Jude Boochever wrote. RFID or "radio frequency identification is something that is newly growing as a technological advancement in society. It uses your voice to identify you and libraries everywhere are looking into making a permit part of checking out books. They even say it could mean more accurate catalogs and a healthier staff, "we use four wand readers and shelf read the collection about every six weeks" says Zep Sylvis. As technology grows so does the increasing effort to keep people safe, no matter how advanced our culture may get, we still need protection, if anything more of it after the turn of the century with new advances emerging in video surveillance and virtually every other aspect of our modern day society. Once again the question must be asked, do you want to be safe and give up a little privacy, or have your voice recordings, phone conversations, internet history, credit card numbers and bank account numbers floating all over cyber space exsesable to anybody.

You Still Dont Belive Me?

If the fact that the technologicly advanced world is growing at an astonoshing rate and bascily nothing is safe without the government anymore doesn't appeal to you, maybe some evidence will tickle your fancy. Think about your workplace, if it envloves computers, phones or video camreas, if so you might be interested in what a CEO of a corporation had to say about it

"Employers are responsible for the work product of their employees. Therefore they have a right, even a duty to monitor.
Employers must guarantee a safe work environment for employees. They must be able to thwart sexual harassment, for example. And if an employee appears to be violent toward other workers, the employer must be able to detect and prevent such violence.
Employers must be able to detect and prevent the sharing or selling of trade secrets and other matters of corporate intellectual property. "

He is saying that they have all the right to look over and watch everything that an employe does on the corporations machines to protect trade policy. If these bos's dident have softwere like that, and the government dident pass law's to help it, then wouldent anybody be able to do whatever they wanted on those systems and practiy wire money from account to account without being caught?. It all goes back to the fact that if you do nothing illegal then you shouldent have to worry about monitoring. Along with the growing number of people learning how to use computers and program things for themselfs aka highschool and college students, the NSA has to be ontop of it or else everything that we think is safe, online banking, online shopping, even ordering things off the phone could be condridicted. You have to give up a little to be safe. there is no way around it, just like a child being watched over by their parents. the NSA and Homeland secureity look over the citizens, like that young child, he may not understand why he has to be watched over and kept an eye on, nor do the people of this country, but as both learn with time, its for their own good.

You Gotta See It To Belive It

Most people think that the government is watching over all of us like a hawk, and their right. The government has to keep tabs on everybody and everything that happens. Part of being safe is giving up a little privacy. Wether its RFID "radio frequency idetification", phone taps or Keyloggers, the National Securiety Ageecny is watching. Now you might be thinking that this isn't good, why would you want somebody to know everything you do? The fact of the matter is that if the government dident watch over everything that were doing then hackers and just about anybody with a PC would be able to access or information. Wether people want to accepct it or not, we need people to watch over us, the average american knows nothing more than how to check their email and the weather for the next day, never mind be able to protect their own privacy. Once again if you have nothing to hide then why should you worry?. Nobody is gonna care what you said to your brother on the phone, or what you bought on ebay the other night, unless its a matter of national security. Most people buy things online, do their banking online and virtualy do all their shopping online, putting all their credit card numbers in sites that they "think" are safe. well if goverment agencies dident pay attention to any of that, or dident keep tabs on hackers, then your personal information would just be floating around for virutaly anybody to see. People need to think twice when they critizie the government for keeping an eye on everything because even though they maybe be able to see alot, their protecting you, your information and your rights

The Reason Behind It All

As you know there are 2 sides to this story, eaither be safe and give up a little privacy, or have no protection and keep everything a secret. My view on this matter is Pro, i belive that the goverment should be able to do what they have to in order to keep our country safe. If you have nothing to hide, then why should you mind?. The goverment is only going to catch people that are doing things wrong, right?. Im going to convince everybody who reads this why that is the best way to go. Just think about a world where the goverment dident check into anything, where the internet is un protected and veiwable to anybody with a PC and a phone line. Do you think your information would be safe if the goverment wasent devolping Anti-Spyware progarms?. What if the NSA just decdied to stop caring about all of illeagl activity going on and dident keep tabs on people. How would we catch criminals?, every aspect of ploice work is inloved in computers in todays world, every police car has a computer in it. If you want to be safe, this is what your going to have to live with. Maybe some people say, "its invasion of privacy" and they dont want all their internet sites document and phone calls recorded, but wether you like it or not, its going to happen anyway so get used to being safe.

The "Other" Side Of The Story

Sure, you can say that were safer and that everything being documented is the best way to go, but to every tale there are two sides. Have you ever thought about the fact that in order for the government to make everything safer, more things have to be documented and stored in databases, whether it be video footage from surveillance cameras, emails you sent or bank account numbers through banking websites, everything is stored somewhere. And wherever there exists valuable information there lurks somebody with intentions to steal it. Hackers. Hacking has existed from the dawn of the first computers, and the government is having a very hard time keeping on top of it. Just think about all your anti virus, anti spy were and anti everything else software on your computer. Not to mention the scare of identity theft. On top of hackers being able to access your personal information, there are your rights, the right to privacy. With rapidly growing technology, your basically never safe, your cell phone can be tracked and pinpoint its location in a matter of seconds even from a police station, your internet history is documented so well its even stored within your own machine, and your bank account numbers, credit card numbers, even ordering things off of eBay.com has all your personal information floating around the web just waiting for somebody to steal it. So maybe you should think twice when ordering that sweatshirt off line.

Lets Start With The Good News

To some people it may seem that our government is watching our every move, kicking in doors and taking names, well they are in fact correct. But there is a good side to all of this Kaos, it is making our rapidly growing technologically advanced world, a much safer place to live in. Just think if the NSA "national security agency" dident bother creating new security systems, and let hackers over run our computers. Or if Homeland security just decided to pay no attention to the hazards of todays society. It would be a pretty scary place to live in wouldn't it?. I believe that, if you have nothing to hide, why should you care?, do you think the government cares about your phone call conversation to your girlfriend at 2 in the morning if it dident effect national security? or what internet site your Christmas shopping off of? I think not. There are people that argue its "invasion of privacy", well it all comes down to one thing. Give a little to be safe and secure, or handle your security in your own hands and the government wont know what kind of sweatshirt you bought your aunt Mary for the holidays.
